About Frank Otero
Frank Otero has been an Adjunct Professor of Jazz, Trombone, and Music Literature at UTEP since 2014, where he directs Jazz Band 2, teaches in the trombone studio, and teaches Jazz to Rock and mUsic Appreciation. Mr. Otero earned his B.M. From UTEP in 1991 and a M.M. In Trombone Performance from New Mexico State University in 1998. He has over 25 years of experience as a music educator, working at the middle school, high school, and college levels. Mr. Otero is a top-call trombonist in the El Paso region, performing in everything from touring Broadway shows, salsa bands, jazz bands, the El Paso Brass Quintet, Quintessential Brass Quintet, and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Otero has performed with a variety of artists including Linda Ronstadt, Liberace, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Frankie Valli, Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, Bill Watrous, The Guy Lambardo Orchestra, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, The Ice Capades. Additionally, he has performed with touring groups in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Las Cruces, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Orlando, San Diego, Ashland OR, Seattle WA, Tacoma WA, Eugene OR. and internationally in Juarez Mexico, Chihuahua Mexico, Montreux Switzerland, and Germany.
